Automatic first install

• Download and unzip the installer program. You may unzip it anywhere, it doesn't have to be in NTW folder.
• Start it. For first time, select your NTW installation folder (where you have Napoleon.exe)
• Connect to server to get the list of files you have / are missing / needs to be updated.
• Click on Download files. Be patient, it can be long, especially for first install! The installer should install everything for you.
• If you get a message saying some files are not on the server, click on download anyway to get the files that can be found, and after they are installed, try again. Sometimes the files are not found the first time, due to some connection issue. So just try several times, until all the files are installed.
• A user script will be created automatically, configured with MoE only, with all optional files. If you want to remove optional files, or add another mod, you will add to edit the user script manually

Automatic update

• Run the installer. You don't need to download it again, unless I release a new version of the installer itself.
• Connect to server. You will automatically get a list of all the files added or modified, compared to your current install.
• Click on Download files, and wait!
• Warning: the user script will be automatically replaced at the end to be sure you have the latest one. If you modified it manually make a copy before updating, and report your changes manually.
• By default, a file that seems to be good will be listed "OK", and not checked. You can download it again anyway by checking the checkbox on the left.

Manual install / update

• Download each required file, and the campaign files, and if you want the optional files (recommended).
• Unzip each file in the Napoleon Towal War Installation folder , data sub folder. Something like "Steam\SteamApps\common\napoleon total war\data"
• Copy the user.script.txt to something like "C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\Scripts"
• Use only one localisation file: MoE_localisation_Local.pack or MoE_localisation_EN.pack, depending if you want names in English only, or local language
• Warning: since there is now an auto installer, I will keep the list of all the individual files here for a while, but it will be simplified, with only the date of the last update, no more colour code!

  • The voice packs now include the full voices, so you will get national language for every units, and campaign voices in your faction language. No more manual work to avoid the "campaign in English only" problem.

  • Added missing variants for Spanish generals: they will no longer show with ETW placeholders graphics in battle.

  • Modified the starpots: each region should have a level 1 barracks, except a few regions. And the capitale of the largest factions can also have cavalry or artillery barracks

  • Error in the script when adding Netherlands when starting a campaign the map was black because of that. It was also messing with units availability at some date.
  • I reworked completly the list of ship names. They should be better in campaign, but not yet perfect, I need to check the list for emergent. But it should be OK for major factions.
  • I tweaked a little the parameters for battle, tell me if it feels better especially for range combat.
  • Reworked the ammunition level of every units. There was some errors, and now it should be more consistant, and allow longer firefight.
  • Reduced a little the strength of rebel (only 2 guns in artillery units, only 50 cavalry).
